Inclusive Facilitation & Community Engagement
Busting typical meeting roadblocks, leaving people feeling engaged, heard, and productive
The all-too-familiar issues we face daily in meetings:
-
Boring, sit-and-get style presentations where people check out within minutes.
-
The same people speaking up and others leave feeling like their thoughts weren’t captured.
-
People saying the meeting should have been an email–no clear objectives, process, or outcomes.
Instead, I collaborate closely with partners to design processes that are interactive and allow participants to engage in ways for work with them, keeping the group connected and moving forward.

Here’s how it’s done:
-
Interactive and engaging processes–using a diverse set of activities and tools to keep people plugged in and contributing.
-
Building accessibility and inclusion into processes so each person’s ideas are captured in ways that make them feel heard and valued.
-
Creating clear processes and outcomes so everyone understands what is happening and when things will occur.
Key skills and tools include:
-
Interactive technology tools that are easy to access in virtual spaces
-
Accessibility features like closed captioning, high-contrast slides, and agendas shared in advance
-
Multiple opportunities for feedback through individual reflection, small group discussions, and large group conversations, plus time after meetings for those who need it
-
Multilingual support using translation and interpretation—I am experienced in facilitating meetings with simultaneous interpretation, both in-person and virtually
